Pastor Lois Blackwell
Pastor Lois Blackwell exemplifies the life a genuine, anointed, Spirit-filled woman of God. As the daughter of the late Bishop Dwight H. McDaniels Jr., she was reared through Biblical doctrine and Christian disciplines. She continues to use those same disciplines to serve the Lord and lead others to Him.
A St. Louis native, Pastor Lois has always played an active role in the church. Her earliest recollections are of a life that was rooted deeply in the church and the community. Upon high school graduation, she entered Homer G. Phillips Nursing School and graduated as an R.N. Her studies also took her to Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, where she graduated as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. She practiced as a Staff C.R.N.A. for twenty years in the state of Ohio.
Pastor Lois imparts the teachings of the Bible in vital ways. Working alongside her husband, Bishop Luther J. Blackwell Jr., they bring a unique balance of excellence to ministry. This balance is exercised through their leadership of two progressive churches in Cleveland, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri. She is involved with the counseling ministry and she oversees the Women’s Ministry Division.
A matter that is dear to Pastor Lois’ heart is that of women’s issues. She has taught many classes and seminars on such issues as hormones, menopause, sexual abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, mid-life changes, and other challenges women often face. Many women around the nation have been blessed by her candor during explosive conferences, such as The National Women’s Conference and the International Congress of Local Churches. She has appeared on Good Morning America, discussing the topic of women’s health issues, such as menopause. She is able to both use her educational background and her wealth of Christian wisdom to address topics that are not usually tackled within the global church arena.
Pastor Lois and Bishop Blackwell reside in the Greater Cleveland area with their family – Stacy Michelle, Alana Denise and husband, Louie Hendon, Lucien Christopher and wife, Nafeesa, and Meaghan Christina, who stand as pillars of support to the ministry. They also have six beautiful grandchildren, McKenna Christine, Noah Christopher James and Jonah Christopher Scott, born to Lucien and Nafeesa, and Kennedy Raine, Raegan Joi and Jaxon Myles Dwight, born to Alana and Louie.
